Bookends (2) - Art Deco. Masterpiece. Modernist chromed bronze. Circa 1940

Superb pair of modernist bookends from the Art Deco period around 1940. Identical, on a simple wooden base. Composed of chrome-plated bronze elements (heavy). Base plate worked into circles with 3 rings of decreasing sizes screwed onto the base. A craftsmanship piece perhaps produced in a college for a terminal exam or even a master’s project for apprentice workers, like Compagnons. No apparent signature, in good condition, no breaks, losses, impact marks or incongruous scratches nor restoration. Height 13 cm. Bases rectangular 13 cm x 10 cm. Ring diameters: 10 cm, 7 cm and 3 cm. Total weight 4.7 kg! Attention to shipping price. Still no delivery to the USA (French Post service regulations).
