Now it is well-known that New Jersey offers many enticing and difficult prospects for those who specialize in National Bank Notes. Many of those rarities are nonetheless representative of banks out of Bergen, Essex, and Morris counties and are often subject to infrequent appearances on the auction circuit. One such institution is the Morris County-based Boonton National Bank (Charter# 4274) which already records a respectable population of approximately 14 notes in the National Bank Note Census. Yet that figure fails to strike at the inherent rarity of this item along with the preceding lot which represents a $10 Plain Back issued under the Series of 1902. To that end, the most recent auction appearance we can trace for this charter dates back to 2021 while the presence of two rare pieces of bank-related ephemera dating to the 1930s really helps to distinguish this item against its fellow survivors making this lot a truly rare opportunity to be had by collectors.
