Bouillotte table - Gilt brass - Style Louis XVI

The bouillotte table, named after a popular French card game from the 18th century, is an emblematic piece of French neoclassical furniture. This style, popularized during the reign of Louis XVI, is characterized by elegant, streamlined lines, fluted, tapered legs, and delicate brass ornamentation. Like typical mahogany pieces with a marble top, these tables reflect the refined taste and functional aesthetics of the French aristocracy at the end of the 18th century. Collectors value these pieces for their versatility as side tables and their timeless design. Market values vary considerably depending on whether the piece is an authentic antique from the 1700s or a high-quality revival piece from the 19th/20th centuries. The combination of warm wood tones, cool white marble, and an elegant brass gallery creates a sophisticated look that remains highly sought after in interior design.
