Bozner Angel and Bozner Man (6) - Vintage - Ceramic - 1960-1970 - THUN Bolzano

Set of 5 original Bozner candle holders and 1 Tyrolean little man, handmade in the late 1960s. The THUN studio in the city of Bolzano in Italian South Tyrol was founded in 1950 by Otmar Graf von Thun und Hohenstein and Hélène Grabmeyer von Angersheim. Both had a passion for ceramics from a young age. From their first workshop in the basement of Klebenstein Castle, Lene Thun designed all kinds of objects, such as vases, tableware and animal figures. One evening she designs an angel that she paints colorfully and finishes with gold details. This dreamy figure with closed eyes and a lightly bent neck becomes an unprecedented success. Probably this is because the appearance of the Bozner Angel suggests a blessed world. Each figurine is hand-painted in warm matte tones with gilded details and belongs to the early Thun production. This set of collector items consists of: 1 Tyrolean little man, height 25 cm, width 11 cm, depth 9 cm; 1 large angel, ecru with blue, red and green, height 21 cm, base Ø 15 cm; 2 medium-sized angels, ecru with gold, height 16 cm, base Ø 11 cm; 1 medium-sized angel, lavender-blue with pink, height 16 cm, base Ø 11 cm; 1 small angel, gray-blue with yellow, gold and red, height 11 cm, base Ø 7 cm. These candle holders bring (Christmas) atmosphere and coziness to every home. All figurines are in good vintage condition corresponding to their age. No chips, no cracks. The photos are part of the condition and the description. Your purchase will be carefully packaged and insured shipping.
