Bram van Velde studied at the painting and decoration studio Van Schaijk. Lives and works in France Bram van Velde moved to Germany and settled in the artist colony Worpswede. Here, in addition to several paintings in expressionist style, he produced his first lithograph—a self-portrait. It appeared in a publication by the artist colony in a edition of 500 copies. In 1924 he left for Paris together with his brother Gerard. Paris was Bram van Velde's real schooling.
