UNDERSTANDING THE DIMENSIONS The dimensions of the shipped canvas are larger than the final format indicated in order to preserve the margin necessary for stretching. Usually plan for about 4 to 7.5 cm margin on each side, depending on the artwork’s format. Example: a raw canvas of about 145 × 145 cm is intended to be mounted on a frame of about 130 × 130 cm, leaving 7.5 cm on each side for proper tension.
