Thus, the visible sides of the stretcher are an integral part of the painting. But you can also add a frame (see photos, stretcher and frame not included). Understanding the dimensions: they are the raw measurements. Typically allow 4 to 7 cm of extra space on each side of the canvas to properly stretch it on a frame. The larger the canvas, the more generous the margin. For example, for an XXL canvas of 165 cm by 165 cm, the frame will be 150 cm by 150 cm, i.e. 7.5 cm on each side. For a 120x120 cm canvas, the maximum frame is 110x110 cm.
