What remains today of their towns and villages emptied of their inhabitants? It is to answer this question that I went to Israel: to find again and photograph the vestiges of these ghostly localities disappeared in the whirlwind of the 48 war. This report is a voyage through time; a visual journey to the origins of the refugee question. These images are a testimony to a key moment in the region’s history whose consequences are today at the heart of our current events.
