Buffalo Bill - 108 Hefte

Buffalo Bill. Der Held des Wilden Westens. Einzige Original-Ausgabe autorisiert von W.F. Cody gen. Buffalo Bill. 108 (von 122) Hefte der Reihe. Leipzig, Kühn, 1930-33. 4°. Farb. illustr. OBrosch.-Bde., jeweils in neuerer schlichter Tonpapier-Broschur eingebunden. Buffalo Bill. The Hero of the Wild West. Only original edition authorized by W.F. Cody, known as Buffalo Bill. 108 (of 122) issues in the series. Leipzig, Kühn, 1930-33. 4to. Color illustrated original wrappers, each bound in a newer, simpler toned paper wrapper. The American bison hunter William Frederick Cody, known as Buffalo Bill (1846-1917), founded Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in 1883, which exploited enduring clichés about the Wild West and which he also exported to Germany in 1890. Previously, the New York journalist had already published commercially very successful penny dreadfuls about Buffalo Bill. - The Wild West novel series, first published around 1910 by Alwin Eichler Verlag, was revived by Gustav Kühn, managing director of the publishing house, almost 20 years after Eichler's death.] Extensive series; the Börsenblatt (trading journal) only listed the first 40 issues in 1930, and the German National Library only lists 119 issues in total. Issues 30, 35, 41, 89, 108-109, 111, 113, 115, 117-118, and 120-124 are missing. Due to paper quality, the paper is slightly browned; in issue 1, the first three pages are backed with paper strips.
