(C) PRE WAR FOX STERLINGWORTH SIDE BY SIDE 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN Dates to 1935-1936 having been produced by Savage since 1929. All matching numbers. Standard features include the blued barrels with solid matted rib and single bead front sight, manual extractors, Savage Fox legends stamped on barrel, case color box lock, dual triggers, checkered pistol grip walnut stock with matching checkered splinter forearm. The 3" chamber size was not a standard configuration at this time so it was probably opened up at some point. CONDITION: Excellent. Frame still retains approximately 30% color, mostly in protected areas. Barrels retain the majority of their blued finish exhibiting minor muzzle wear and light handling marks retaining bright bores.
