An enigmatic item from Upstate New York contemporary to the War of 1812. This note is nonetheless listed as a "Satirical Note" by PCGS Banknote, but bears a strong resemblance to a piece of period scrip that would have circulated amidst period cash shortages. Here viewers are met with a crude vignette depicting a glass alongside a cask of liquor while the guarantee makes reference to a "QUARTER CASK."
