Campana ritual - style Reino de Benín - - Musical instrument (No reserve price)

It features a conical body, with a widened base and a vertical handle formed by two superimposed rings interlaced in a serpentine shape, giving it a distinctive silhouette. The body is decorated with geometric and stylized floral relief motifs, reticulated weaves, and ornamental horizontal bands that delimit the different decorative zones. The composition combines schematic vegetal elements with linear patterns, creating a notably rich ornamental overall effect. The piece is made of bronze and weighs 631 grams. Its height is 22 centimeters. It retains the interior clapper and preserves its sound-producing functionality. The surface shows a dark patina with greenish tones, as well as signs of wear and irregularities consistent with the aging of the metal. In terms of its typology, it is a traditional bell linked to sound-making, ceremonial, or ritual uses.
