Private Collection, New Hampshire Carl Moon was an American photographer, painter, and illustrator best known for his portraits of Native Americans in the American Southwest during the early twentieth century. Working primarily in New Mexico and Arizona, he produced photographs and paintings that reflected both his interest in Indigenous cultures and the romanticized imagery popular during his era. His photographs were published in portfolios including Indians of the Southwest (1936), and his work is represented in the collections of the Smithsonian Institution and other museums. Good estate condition; photograph mounted to backing (possibly as issued); some minor, expected signs of age.
