Hand-stitched Kashmiri rug 'Omar Khayyam' – 150 x 90 cm Handmade Kashmiri Chain Stitch Rug - Omar Khayyam Pictorial Tapestry Hand-stitched vintage rug / wall hanging with fringes. Classical depiction of the Persian poet Omar Khayyam (1048–1131) with his muse (Saki). In the center lies the embroidered name „عمر خیام“. At the top edge are decorative Persian verses woven. 100% handmade in fine, dense chain stitch embroidery (Chain Stitch). The back reveals the authentic, open structure of the thread guidance on the base fabric. Material: pattern elements made of glossy art silk (Rayon/Viscose) on durable cotton base fabric. Traditional Kashmiri handicraft, circa mid-20th century to late 20th century. Dimensions: 150 cm x 90 cm (fringes not included) Condition: Good to very good vintage condition. The rug is clean and color-fresh; only a few isolated fringes are missing at the edges (see detail photos) Versatile as a decorative accent rug on the floor (light use) or as a dignified wall hanging. Will be securely packaged and shipped with tracking!
