Alla auktioner / Asiatisk keramik & konsthantverk / Casket (4) - Wood - Teak boxes
Elegant lot of four Asian teak wooden boxes and caskets, featuring refined traditional craftsmanship and richly hand-carved decorative surfaces. The boxes are made of Asian teak, a durable and attractive hardwood traditionally used throughout South and Southeast Asian craftsmanship. Each piece features different hand-carved decoration, including flowers, foliage, rosettes, stars and geometric motifs. The lot consists of boxes in different shapes and sizes. One features a decorated lid with a particular closure and an interior divided into several compartments, while other boxes have hinged lids and metal clasps. One of the smaller boxes also has a blue fabric-lined interior. The teak displays a beautiful natural aged patina, with warm shades ranging from honey brown to darker brown. Material: Asian teak Technique: Hand carving Style: Traditional Asian craftsmanship Period: 20th century Decoration: Floral, foliage, rosette, star and geometric motifs Largest box: approximately 24 × 17 cm Condition: good vintage condition considering age and craftsmanship, with age-related marks, scratches, abrasions, colour variations and natural imperfections in the wood. Hinges and metal closures also show signs of age and use. The pieces are offered in their original condition. All details are visible in the photographs.
