Beautiful pair of Sesann armchairs in brown Moro leather It is the Sesann model from the first production, designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina, Italy, around 1970. The Sesann is famous for its sculptural silhouette and for the characteristic visible chrome tubular frame, which elegantly envelops the generously padded upholstery. It is upholstered in a splendid original Moro-colored Florentine leather from the period. Launched by Cassina in 1969, the Sesann collection included an armchair, a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa, and a coffee table. Its innovative combination of a visible steel frame and oversized polyurethane foam cushions cemented the series as one of the most representative icons of post-war Italian design. The armchairs are in excellent condition, the leather has no breaks or tears, the padding is still excellent, and the frame is perfectly intact; moreover, it still bears the Cassina mark under the shell. Finding 2 original armchairs from the period with the original leather in such condition is virtually impossible to find on the market today after more than 50 years of life! They were part of a beautiful set of 2 armchairs and a 3-seat sofa, which will be found in another listing. Published in major design magazines, it is an Italian design icon and a piece of furniture and investment, being a first production piece.
