Origin of the design: The model of a "sheaf of wheat" (in English Sheaf of Wheat) became a true style icon after Salvador Dalí gifted a similar one to Coco Chanel for her Paris apartment on Rue Cambon. Stylistic context: It belongs to the Hollywood Regency / Italian & French Glamour movement of that period, characterized by the use of gilded metal and natural, sculptural forms. Notable attributions: The original pieces from the era are usually made in France or Germany and are attributed to designers such as Robert Goossens (creator for Chanel) or Hans Kögl (known for his floral sculptures and gilded metal works in the 1960s/70s).
