Vintage Certina Small Seconds from the mid-1960s, reference 7004 161, featuring an elegant champagne-toned dial, applied gold-tone details and the signed Certina calibre 28-10 manual-winding movement. The dial has a refined brushed finish with applied faceted baton hour markers, applied Certina emblem at 12 o’clock and a subsidiary seconds display at 6 o’clock. The slim hands and balanced layout give the watch a classic and very elegant mid-century appearance. Inside is the Certina calibre 28-10, a manually wound Swiss mechanical movement with 17 jewels. The movement is clearly signed “CERTINA – 28-10 – 17 JEWELS – SWISS” and is shown in detail in the photographs. The watch is fully functional and operates correctly. Winding, time setting and the subsidiary seconds function work as intended. The case measures approximately 32.5 mm excluding the crown and 34.5 mm including the crown. The stainless-steel caseback is signed Certina on the inside and the external caseback carries reference 7004 161 together with serial number 5285950, dating the watch approximately to the 1964–1965 period. The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap and gold-tone buckle. The dial retains its elegant brushed finish, applied Certina emblem and applied hour markers, with light age-related traces visible under close inspection. The gold-plated case shows normal signs of wear consistent with age and use, particularly around the bezel and case edges. These are clearly visible in the photographs. The signed Certina calibre 28-10 presents well and is shown in detail with the caseback removed. The brown leather strap currently fitted to the watch shows wear from previous use. We would recommend replacing it according to the new owner’s personal preference. The watch is fully functional at the time of listing. No original box or papers are included. Water resistance has not been tested and should not be assumed for a vintage watch.
