W for Wesselmann — The Artphabet Edition 5/10 — 60 x 60 cm This work is part of The Artphabet, an art project developed by digital artist Cess, where each letter of the alphabet pays homage to major figures in contemporary art. The piece interprets the letter W as a direct nod to the visual universe of Tom Wesselmann, one of the leading figures of Pop Art. The composition centers on volumetric, sensual lips, iconic within his work, reinterpreted here in a three-dimensional, polished, contemporary key. The intensely red lips, slightly ajar, become the central element of the piece, evoking the direct, provocative, and erotically charged visual language characteristic of Wesselmann. The inclusion of lit cigarettes introduces a visual narrative that harks back to pop culture, consumption, and the representation of desire in modern society. The treatment of the forms is clean and decisive, with smooth, glossy surfaces that reinforce the advertising and objetual aesthetics typical of Pop Art. The minimalist composition on a neutral background allows the piece to stand out strongly, focusing attention on the contrast between color, form, and meaning. Entirely created in 3D (CGI), the work has been modeled and rendered with a sculptural approach, where every element—from the curvature of the lips to the texture of the cigarettes—has been carefully crafted to achieve a striking, contemporary visual presence. The Artphabet has achieved notable international diffusion, having been published in numerous media specialized in art, design, and visual culture, establishing itself as a prominent series within today’s digital art. Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI, and artificial intelligence, with a solid track record and collaborations with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue, and MTV. The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly cotton canvas, ensuring faithful reproduction of color, volumes, and nuances of the original digital work.
