Chair (2) - A Pair of 19th Century French Louis XVI Style...
A fine pair of 19th Century chairs in the Louis XVI style. Each featuring an openwork lyre-shaped backrest inset with vertical gilded brass rods, surmounted by formal finials and a curved top rail. The rich mahogany frames are elevated by applied ormolu-style gilt-metal foliate mounts and rosettes. Raised on straight, tapered, and fluted legs ending in capped brass feet. The padded slip seats are upholstered in a traditional cream and muted gold satin striped fabric with some small signs of aging .
