A vintage Chinoiserie-style chair with a tortoiseshell bamboo frame and a woven seat, dating presumably to around the late 19th to early 20th century. The frame is made of flame-treated bamboo to imitate the tortoiseshell effect (tortoiseshell bamboo), characterized by natural knots and dark shading.
