China Peking Aubusson - Carpet - 257 cm - 164 cm

Antique Chinese Rug – Aubusson floral style – 1950s-1960s – 257 × 164 cm We present an elegant antique Chinese rug, made between 1950 and 1960, with a refined Aubusson-inspired floral design. The rug is crafted using an ancient manual tufting technique, in which the wool tufts are worked by hand on a cotton base. On the reverse, the structure is stabilized with a traditional fixing compound that keeps the tufts in place, and finally protected by a textile lining. The pile is worked and cut by hand, creating the beautiful relief characteristic of this type of rug. It features a very elegant decoration, with a large central floral medallion and numerous flower and leaf motifs, combined in soft tones of green, beige, pink, and brown. Origin: China Period: 1950s-1960s Dimensions: 257 × 164 cm Material: wool on cotton base Technique: manual tufting Design: Aubusson floral The rug is in very good condition considering its age. It preserves the pile very well and shows no breaks or significant wear. The protective backing has stains and signs of aging, clearly visible in the photographs. For this reason, we recommend a professional cleaning. A beautiful antique Chinese rug, with a strong decorative presence, featuring attractive relief work and an elegant color combination.
