Appealing Rome-Designed Sun Yat-sen "Junk" Dollar CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, Year 18 (1929). Hangchow Mint. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. L&M-92; K-614; KM-Pn97; WS-0136B; Chang-CH195; Wenchao-907 (rarity: ★★). Italian design from Rome Mint dies. Featuring a portrait of Sun Yat-sen that rather closely rivals the eventual design utilized for the circulation strikes, this charming specimen does display some very light wear across the higher points as well as some noted subtle cleaning, but also employs an engaging level of burnished toning that elevates its overall appearance. As such, an impressive and appealing example of the type. Estimate: $10,000 - $20,000. Provenance: From the MC Collection (陳氏家族集藏). To view all items from the MC Collection (陳氏家族集藏), click here.
