oil on canvas, 75 x 62cm; framed 96 x 82cm, Condition Report, Condition Report, There is a large repaired F shaped tear to the left side of the painting which crosses the sitter's head and shoulder with losses and abrasions to the top and the potential for flaking. There is a further repaired tear to the upper right and another smaller tear to the sitter's hair, centre right. Extensive overpainting which has been crudely executed. Craquelure and some small scattered losses. The appearance of the painting is somewhat dark with surface dirt and discolouration, particularly to the face. Examination under UV light reveals extensive overpainting as mentioned earlier in the report. Please see additional condition images. The reverse of the canvas is boxed and has not been viewed.
