The classic solitaire ring, i.e. a ring with just one diamond, dates back to a design by the jeweller Tiffany & Co. in 1886. Only around 20 years earlier, new, rich diamond deposits had been discovered in South Africa and jewellery with diamonds was now affordable for the first time for broad sections of the population. The invention of the diamond solitaire was the almost necessary consequence - and to this day, this form of ring has remained the epitome of the engagement ring. One such solitaire ring was created on our behalf here in Berlin. At its center is a sparkling diamond weighing 0.96 carats. The stone in a slightly cushion-shaped old Mine cut was cut around 1890. Small inclusions make the stone unique and testify to its authenticity and natural origin. The colour of the diamond is slightly tinted white (Top Crystal, I), which gives the ring a pleasantly warm appearance. The ring holds the historic diamond securely with six prongs. The ring is sustainably manufactured by us: Both the diamond and the platinum of the ring are used here in second use. These are reused, historical materials. We love this ring design because it’s simple and lets the beautiful diamond take center stage. Discover all the other rings in this design here!
