Cluster of Marine Barnacles - Taxidermy full body mount...

This extraordinary group of marine barnacles, commonly known as "dog teeth", is a true natural curiosity. They are sessile crustaceans belonging to the class Cirripedia, in this case of the genus Balanus Tetraclita, collected in a fascinating compact cluster and subsequently mounted on a black display-style base. Barnacles build sturdy calcareous shells and live attached to rocks, mollusks, or the hulls of ships, filtering plankton from ocean waters. The appearance is architectural and organic at the same time: each cone-shaped structure features natural hues ranging from chalk white to burgundy, with fine striations that attest to the growth and adaptation of the organism to the marine environment. This three-dimensional composition has been carefully selected and valued as a decorative object of great visual impact, ideal for collectors, nautical or scientific-styled interiors, and lovers of the natural wonders of the sea.
