Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 70 x 38 cm and 96 x 65 cm. Port scene in which a young fishmonger appears standing, surrounded by baskets, against a seascape bathed in the light of dawn. The regional costume, the floral details on the ground, and the figure’s serene expression lend an idealized and nostalgic character. The vertical composition elegantly frames the female figure and gives prominence to the decorative elements and the coastal atmosphere. The brushwork is precise and refined, especially in the folds of the dress and the textures of the baskets and fish.
