In 1902 he became closely involved there with the art society Pictura Veluvensis (1902-1935), and thereafter he was a regular exhibitor at the annual exhibitions. At the international exhibitions of 1907 and 1911 in Barcelona he was awarded respectively a bronze medal and an honorable mention. Kuypers is a true landscape painter. His works are often populated with workers, but subordinate to the totality of nature. After his fourteen-year stay in Renkum he moves to The Hague, then briefly lives again in Rijswijk, and dies in 1936 in Soest.
