Als Anhänger der Französischen Revolution kündigte er erstmals 1793 in einer Hamburger Zeitung an, die Texte des Pariser Bürgermeisters und Girondisten Pétion de Villeneuve, der für die Enthauptung Ludwigs XVI. gestimmt hatte, übersetzen zu wollen. 1794 wurde Cramer daraufhin von der Kieler Universität entlassen und der Stadt verwiesen.- Diese Auflage zusätzlich mit einem Kapitel zu Cramers Abschied aus Kiel und einer Abhandlung zur Pressefreiheit.- Hinteres Vorsatzblatt entfernt. As a supporter of the French Revolution, he first announced in a Hamburg newspaper in 1793 his intention to translate the texts of the Parisian mayor and Girondin, Pétion de Villeneuve, who had voted for the execution of Louis XVI. In 1794, Cramer was dismissed from the University of Kiel and banished from the city.- This edition additionally includes a chapter on Cramer's departure from Kiel and a treatise on freedom of the press.- Rear endpaper removed. Slightly browned in places and slightly foxed, small inscription on title page.
