Cupboard - Keeftkast - Oak

Impressive traditional Frisian Keeftkast. These cabinets were made as showpieces to display social status. Very richly executed. And typical of Friesland. These cabinets were a statement. This is a fixed and iconic furniture type for this region. From the cap—with that distinctive profiling—it is called a "kwispeldoor cap" because if you mirror this profile, the shape of a kwispeldoor appears. The heavy half-columns also belong to this style with their deep fluting. See close-up photos. Heavy and articulated base above the ball feet. Very architectural, like a classically designed building. Completely with Greek columns and (always) Corinthian capitals. Original lock with a working key. What is surprising is the interior, also this we always see with this type of cabinet, the two ajour-cut doors. Beautiful panels on the sides. The back has oak panels that are of a later date. Very neatly done. I only ship to countries within the EU. Buyers from other countries must arrange their own transport. You will receive the shipment details from me. That can include UPS, GLS, FedEx, and DHL. You will receive a label from your carrier and email it to me. Catawiki has a carrier called Brenger. I can advise you.
