Danseuse orientale - Sculpture

Elegant bronze sculpture representing a dancer in a graceful and ethereal pose, attributed to Henry Fugère, a French sculptor renowned for his depictions of women, where movement and the refinement of the woman form a true artistic signature. The patina with silvery reflections highlights the slender lines of the silhouette and enhances the feeling of lightness. The meticulous work on details, notably the motifs of the bodice, the folds of the skirt and the delicacy of the hands, bears witness to a fine quality of execution. The statue rests on a magnificent Vert de Mer marble base, whose deep nuances and natural veining contrast elegantly with the brilliance of the bronze. This work perfectly illustrates the Art Deco aesthetics of the 1920s-1930s, a period during which dance, movement and femininity occupy a privileged place in the decorative arts. The statue will be shipped in professional and eco-friendly packaging (+ Ad Valorem insurance) ( Exclusive use of ecological and recyclable kraft tape ) Henri Fugère (Saint-Mandé, 1872-1944) - Referenced in BENEZIT - Page 758 Son of sculptor Léon Fugère, pupil of Cavelier, he exhibited from 1893 medallions, busts and especially statuettes, mostly in bronze He continued his activity after the 1914-18 war and the works of this period often show a clear Art Deco influence.
