Dante Carpigiani - Sculpture

Dante Carpigiani, sculptor and painter (Mirandola 1921 - Bologna 2012). Full professor for several years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. A silent artist, but not his works. He directed his attention and his studies mainly toward sacred art. His works, especially bronzes and terracottas, have found a home in many churches and several works are visible at the Certosa of Bologna. Here presented is a work that leaves one speechless: a plaster, probably a preparatory piece for a subsequent bronze never realized. It may seem like an juxtaposition, but I would say better an evolution, of the Maria di Cleofa from The Lamentation by Niccolò dell'Arca on which the Master Carpigiani must have reflected quite a bit. An evolution, yes, but with the signature and the silence proper to Carpigiani where the drama of dell'Arca almost turns into a calm resignation: in silence. In good condition, as shown by the photographic gallery. It measures about 70x140x50 cm with a weight of more than 30 kg. In the sale, the wooden studio pedestal is included. Shipping will necessarily be on a pallet, and the costs include the charges for all the material necessary to guarantee maximum safety. Assistance is guaranteed until delivery of the goods. Excellent packing and assistance until delivery of the goods is ensured.
