Daum ☨ France - Vase - Sublime Rare Sculptural Vase with...

DAUM FRANCE ☨ – Vase “Lagoon” – Created around 1960-70. Magnificent and extremely rare sculptural vase signed DAUM FRANCE, model “Lagoon,” remarkable for its bold geometric architecture and the extraordinary depth of its intense blue. A fascinating color that evokes both the mineral hues of Lapis-lazuli and the deep waters of a blue lagoon, whose variations in light seem imprisoned at the very heart of the crystal. True crystal sculpture, this creation stands out with a slender, resolutely architectural silhouette, composed of powerful stepped geometric volumes that appear to interlock with one another. The material is particularly appealing: thick crystal, a deep vibrant sapphire blue, with subtle speckled and nuanced effects reminiscent of the rich mineral tones of Lapis-lazuli. Under light, the material comes alive with a multitude of variations and reflections, giving the vase remarkable depth. At the heart of this imposing blue structure, a long vertical opening runs through the composition like a true light fault, while the lower part is dotted with broad clear-crystal recesses. These through openings create fascinating plays of transparency and depth: the eye literally penetrates to the heart of the vase, while light refracts on the polished edges and illuminates the blue from within. Depending on orientation and lighting, the crystal metamorphoses before the viewer’s eye, revealing successively sumptuous shades of midnight blue, cobalt, and lapis-lazuli. Despite its relatively modest dimensions of 23 cm in height and 13 cm in width, this vase possesses a particularly remarkable and imposing presence, enhanced by the generous thickness of its crystal and the power of its volumes. Weighing about 1.5 kg, it immediately impresses when held in the hand with its density and beautiful tactile feel, further reinforcing its truly sculptural character. Engraved signature on the tip: Daum France. A sublime Daum creation, particularly unique, on the border between glass art, Art Deco, sculpture, and architecture, whose strong, very graphic lines give it a remarkable and decidedly contemporary presence. In very good overall condition. Only a tiny, insignificantly minor wear at an upper corner to be noted, extremely discreet, which does not detract at all from the aesthetics or the spectacular character of this superb and rare creation (today unavailable on the market) as it was produced in very small numbers by the famous Daum France manufactory in the 1960s. A remarkable Art Deco collectible piece that will enhance your interior and inspire the admiration of your guests. DUE TO AN INCREASING NUMBER OF UNPAID LOTS...
