Special Series Crypto Rock - Recreating a photo using images of the represented artist. Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and perception of images in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront dummies, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetics. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close, it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts like a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Thorough work is done on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Manufacture Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printing on white luminous vinyl, laminated between two aluminum plates, with flexible UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern and contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops a writer-artist and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the band FRENZY.
