ew series – Lost souls David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary imagery Multidisciplinary photographer, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimposition. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, he was struck by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, which he continued to stage in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection. New series – Lost Souls With this series, David Law dives into austere and dark universes, inhabited by phantom silhouettes suspended in mid-air. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual writing built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent journey, at the borders of the visible and the invisible. Edition & Manufacturing Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great long-term stability of colors and a modern, contemporary rendering. Profile Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops an author’s and musician’s career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
