Lupin III – The Gentleman Thief Size 29 cm x 41 cm Gouache on acid-free paper Original gouache painting entirely handmade, depicting Lupin III, the iconic gentleman thief protagonist of the famous saga created by Japanese cartoonist Monkey Punch. The work offers an artistic reinterpretation of the character, inspired by the aesthetics of the recent 3D animated film, revisiting its shapes and expressiveness through the artist's personal style. For almost twenty years, Davide Zanella has developed a distinctive artistic language that blends traditional gouache technique with his passion for Japanese illustration and animation. In this gouache, Lupin III is reimagined through a vision inspired by his latest three-dimensional incarnation, while preserving the character's irreverent charisma, easygoing elegance, and adventurous spirit that have made him famous worldwide. The gouache technique adds a painterly and tactile dimension to the film’s digital imagery, creating an interesting dialogue between contemporary animation and traditional art. Created for Arte Zeta Studio, the work is an original and unique piece, intended for collectors and Lupin III fans, anime, manga, and Japanese illustration enthusiasts.
