DEADLY IDYLL - Paolo Scaglioni

DEADLY IDYLL by Paolo Scaglioni Painting 19.6 x 27.6 :: In this work I glued two sheets of ordinary paper printed with a uniform black inkjet background onto a canvas. I then proceeded to scratch scrape and tear the surface away gradually revealing an image that evokes a lake landscape with vegetation and snow emerging in the foreground. What interests me most is the paradox inherent in the process: the image is created through subtraction. Rather than adding material to construct the picture I arrive at the image by removing eroding and disrupting the surface. :: Type: Painting Medium: Acrylic Style: Contemporary Subject: Landscape Width: 19.6 Height: 27.6 Depth: 0.1 Weight: 1.5 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
