Decorative ornament

Victorian brass frame from the 19th century with chromolithography on canvas. The decorative frame and the pediment are in brass, or bronze (green verdigris present) with a beautiful antique patina. The support is covered with ochre velvet bordered by a textile trim, typical of decorative frames from the Belle Époque highlighting the Victorian style in all its splendor. This kind of frame was very popular among Parisian and English nobility. Everything is original; it is beautifully handcrafted, with superb details and arabesques on the frame and the pediment. The weight of the metal elements is a guarantee of its quality. The ochre velvet fabric is also in excellent condition for an object that is almost 150 years old. We can also note the superb chromolithography on canvas which has kept all its colors; the canvas is in perfect condition, as are the contrasts of the painting. It measures 18 cm in height, 9.5 cm in width and 2.3 cm in depth. The inner frame measures 10.3 cm in height and 6.3 cm in width. Its weight is 164 grams. As with any antique art object, it may have imperfections due to use and age.
