Delicate Gold Ring with Morganite & Diamonds From Our Workshop

Some time ago, we had a surprise visit. The two grandchildren of a gemstone dealer from Stockholm had moved to Berlin and brought a little treasure with them. They had found a small box in their grandfather's estate that had been lying unnoticed in the attic for decades. It was filled with sparkling gemstones in a wide variety of colors, tourmalines and beryls, already polished. Gustav Caesar had acquired the gemstones in May 1956, as the handwritten list in the box revealed. Around 170 carats of wonderful gemstones in all colors of the rainbow had been waiting for around 65 years to finally shine in the light of the sun! We didn't hesitate for long and took over the collection immediately. But how should we present the gemstones? Our goldsmiths designed a ring that is entirely focused on the presentation of the gemstones. A narrow ring band made of high-carat yellow gold wraps discreetly around the finger. At its center, one of the faceted gemstones is held securely by four by two prongs. It is accompanied on the right and left by three white diamonds as sparkling points of light. The high-carat gold is a historical material that we have recycled ourselves for reasons of sustainability and the diamonds are also historical stones that already have a history of their own: They come from pieces of jewelry that have become unfashionable and have been melted down. A beryl is now set in the center of this ring. Beryls come in different colors. The stone in this ring is a rosy, soft peach-coloured so-called morganite. This variety of beryl has only been discovered in Madagascar since 1911. It is therefore still a relatively young gemstone. Morganite is named after the New York banker and gemstone collector John Pierpont Morgan. We like this ring because it is straightforward and allows the beautiful gemstone from former Swedish ownership to take pride of place. It can also be combined wonderfully.
