Delicate Platinum Ring with Blue Sapphire & Diamonds, from Our Workshop

Some time ago, we were fortunate enough to acquire a large collection of tourmalines and beryls that had been lying dormant in a Stockholm gem dealer’s warehouse since the 1950s. Our goldsmiths designed a gold ring to showcase one of these gemstones, each accompanied by six diamonds. Crafted from sustainable materials and featuring diamonds that also carry their own history, this ring design breathes new life into these historic gemstones. Here, a sky-blue sapphire is presented in a simple yet classic setting. It is a natural stone with delicate inclusions and the colour of a radiant summer sky. It is flanked by six brilliant-cut diamonds—three on each side—which add white highlights to the sapphire’s blue glow. As with all rings in this series, the platinum and diamonds are sustainably sourced. They come from pieces of jewellery that, unfortunately, were in such poor condition that they could no longer be restored. Here, however, in a new form, they too can begin a new life. This is the first time the sapphire has been part of a piece of jewellery—in the spirit of the saying, “Something old, something new, something blue…”.
