Some time ago, we were fortunate enough to acquire a collection of tourmalines and beryls that had been lying dormant in a Stockholm gem dealer’s warehouse since the 1950s. Our goldsmiths designed a ring to showcase one of these gemstones accompanied by six diamonds—crafted from sustainable materials, with diamonds that also carry their own stories, thereby breathing new life into these historic materials. Most of the original tourmalines have now been sold. However, following numerous requests, we set out once again in search of beautiful, vibrant tourmalines and discovered this gemstone in a truly wonderful colour at our gemstone dealer in Idar-Oberstein. It is a natural green tourmaline. Its colour is a fresh lime green reminiscent of fresh leaves in the sunlight. This extraordinary shade gives the stone a wonderful presence. Tourmalines have only been known in Europe since the early 18th century, when Dutch merchants first brought them back from East Asia. We love this ring design because it’s simple and lets the beautiful gemstone take center stage. It also pairs wonderfully with other pieces—we have several variations available!
