DENMARK. 2 Gold Krone, 1626. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC Unc

Superlatively detailed and One of Only Three Recorded Examples DENMARK. 2 Gold Krone, 1626. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC Unc Details--Edge Filing. Fr. 54; KM-74.2; Hede-25A; Sieg-134.1; Schou-1; Harck-25.2; Bruun-5497. Weight: 5.95 gms. Mintmaster: Nicolaus Schwabe. Apart from the two publicly held examples in the national collections of Denmark and Norway, this seems to be the only example known. A close to perfect example with an abundance of radiant luster, superlative details and a completely even flan. The retouching of the edge mentioned is not a mounting trace and doesn't detract from the overall beauty. The value of the Double Goldkrone corresponded to 3 Speciedalers. Estimate: €15,000 - €20,000. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: Carl Friderich Schubart Collection (Copenhagen - 1831) Lot # 727. To view supplemental information and all items from the L.E. Bruun Collection, click here.
