(◊) DENMARK. Treasury. 1 (Een) Mark, 8.4.1713. P-A14. Sieg 19. PMG Fine 12 Net. Backed. Third issue. A scarce early Danish note that is counted among the earliest paper money in Europe. This example has been backed, which has ensured its survival. Based on the appearance of the backing, we suspect this backing occurred in the 18th century or, at the latest, the 19th century. PMG Comments "Backed." Provenance: From the Nordjysk Collection.
