Desk (3) - Wood, Cherry wood - Complete three-piece desk

Three-piece bureau ensemble in a classic English Regency style, presumably manufactured in Europe around 1950–1975. The set consists of a spacious writing desk with three drawers, a wooden armchair with upholstered seat, and a large display cabinet. The writing desk features a rectangular brown leather writing surface with blind-stamped floral border decoration. The top rests on two elegantly shaped scroll legs, connected by a turned wooden crossbar. At the front are three drawers. The armchair has curved armrests, turned front legs, and an openwork backrest. The seat is upholstered in a neutral gray-green fabric. The monumental cabinet comprises a closed lower unit with three separate paneled doors and an upper unit with three glass doors and shelves. The classical hardware is brass-colored. The full ensemble has been in the same Belgian family for three generations. No visible maker’s marks or labels were found. Based on the construction, machine-made woodworking, drawer bottoms, and method of fastening, the ensemble is cautiously dated to the mid-20th century. It is offered as a high-quality vintage-style ensemble and not as 19th-century antiques. Condition: The ensemble is in good, used vintage condition, with normal signs of age and wear. The wood shows local small scratches, discolorations, and wear. On the front of the right desk drawer there are clearly visible scratches and damage to the finish. The drawer is complete and functional. The leather writing surface shows wear, color variations, impressions, and visible seams or older repairs. The chair upholstery shows light signs of use. The glass of the cabinet is intact. Due to size and weight, the ensemble is offered for pickup only in Kortrijk, Belgium. The buyer is responsible for sufficient manpower, suitable transport, and protective materials. The cabinet can be dismantled into two parts for transport.
