Also, electing a Constable, Tithing man and Hayward all before Thomas Holder. Bailiff of the Manor and William Wizard Gentleman Steward. Definitions - Tithing men are local officials responsible for keeping peace, enforcing law and maintaining order. A Haywards are Parish officers who guarded farm crops fences and common land from stray animals and livestock.
