A very rare original 1966 Danish first mono pressing of The Rock Sect's In by Downliners Sect, issued on Columbia under catalogue number SX 6028. Released in 1966, The Rock Sect's In captures Downliners Sect at their rawest and most energetic, blending British rhythm & blues, garage rock and hard-edged beat music into one of the band's strongest albums. The record showcases the band's distinctive interpretations of Hang On Sloopy, Fortune Teller, Don't Lie To Me and Brand New Cadillac, alongside the extraordinary Why Don't You Smile Now—an early composition connected with Lou Reed and John Cale. Scarce Danish/Scandinavian variation - While the UK edition is already highly collectible, this Danish pressing is considerably more unusual. Documented Danish copies were pressed locally for the Scandinavian market while using an imported UK-manufactured sleeve, making this a fascinating international variation for the specialist collector. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original sleeve remains structurally strong and presents very nicely overall. There is some light age-related handling and wear together with a noticeable blue stain on the rear. Aside from this, the sleeve remains relatively clean and attractive, grading a solid VG+. Vinyl Audio VG+ (Visual VG): The record shows clear signs of previous play, with visible playwear, some grey sheen and a number of superficial hairlines and surface marks across both sides. Importantly, there are no deep or seriously feelable marks. Because of the visible surface wear, the record grades VG visually. Playback is noticeably stronger than the appearance suggests and remains very enjoyable overall, delivering approximately VG+ audio quality. ⸻ Details * Danish first pressing * Columbia SX 6028 * 1966 release * Mono * Imported UK sleeve with locally pressed Danish vinyl
