Dublin, Texas. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 629. Dublin NB. Charter #4865.

Dublin, Texas. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 629. Dublin NB. Charter #4865. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. Founded in the 1850s, Dublin supposedly owes its name to its counterpart in Ireland and sits in the southwestern portion of Erath County in Central Texas. The town itself traces a history typical of many communities across Texas and has long been tied to agriculture and various industries including banking as illustrated by the Dublin National Bank (Charter# 4865) which had organized in 1893. This institution was notably the second of four National Banks to organize here and was the only one to linger past 1935 and even remains in business after moving to Houston in 2018. As for the notes issued by the Dublin National Bank, the National Bank Note Census records 13 non-institutional notes including this evenly circulated $10 Plain Back issued during the 1920s which features the signatures of Cashier E.W. Harris and President John G. Harris and presently offers a fine opportunity for the discerning collector of Texas Nationals. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
