E. García - Atardecer entre palmeras XL (No reserve)

“Sunset among palm trees” is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work presents a contemplative tropical scene in which a figure, seen from behind and protected by a wide white hat, observes the sea during the last hours of the day. Surrounded by lush vegetation and framed by two tall palm trees, the protagonist seems to pause before the landscape, turning the moment into an experience of calm and contemplation. The composition is organized through large planes of color. The intense blue of the sea contrasts with a sky built from pinks, magentas, yellows, and oranges, while a wide variety of greens occupies the foreground. The luminous white of the hat functions as a focal point and immediately guides the gaze to the figure. The free and expressive treatment of color shows echoes of Fauvism: the palette deliberately moves away from naturalistic representation to intensify the emotion and intensity of the scene. Deep greens, turquoises, electric blues, and yellows coexist with the surprising pink sky, creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere. Visible brushwork, simplification of forms, and strong chromatic contrasts add dynamism to a scene that, in its theme, conveys serenity. The large tropical leaves in the foreground also function as a natural frame that introduces the viewer to the landscape. “Sunset among Palm Trees” offers an image of escape and stillness, a suspended moment before the sea in which nature, color, and the human figure unite to convey the sensation of a tropical sunset.
