“Asian Portrait” is a 100×70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work features a woman dressed in traditional attire inspired by Asian styles, depicted from the waist up and looking directly at the viewer. The large black headdress, adorned with flowers and hanging elements, dominates the upper part of the composition and gives the portrait a strong sculptural presence. The palette is built through strong contrasts: turquoise and ultramarine in the clothing stand out against an orange coral background, while reds, greens, and small white details enrich the painted surface. The floral motifs extend from the outfit and the headdress into the background itself, integrating figure and space into a single ornamental composition. The simplification of forms, visible brushwork, and expressive use of color show echoes of Fauvism and modern painting.
