E. SIEGL - Sculpture, "Sluipende leeuwin" - lengte 29 cm - 14 cm - Ceramic

Expressive Art Deco crackle glaze sculpture of a hunting lioness stalking a rocky terrain. The sculpture dates from the interwar period (the 1920s/1930s) and was made in France. It is signed with E.Siegl on the pedestal. Length 29 cm – Width 9.5 cm - Height 14 cm Reference: Patrick Malaureille – “Craquelés – Les animaux en céramique 1920-1940”: image p. 69 The sculpture is in very good condition. No restorations, cracks or damaged pedestal which is common with this type of sculpture. Some small imperfections on the hind leg (see first photo). Photos are an integral part of the description.
